We enjoyed an unforgettable stay at the Flamingo Experience! It's run by a super friendly American-Nicaraguan couple, Ali and Frania, who live there with their seven adorable dogs (those are outside most of the time). We booked two rooms for two couples, and both rooms had an amazing view of Playa Remanso. We loved everything about our stay: the beautiful rooms, personalized breakfast, elegant pool, and the perfect seaside location. Ali and Frania are lovely people as well, and fun to be around. If you're looking for a relaxing beach escape in Nicaragua, we can't recommend The Flamingo Experience enough!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful property. From the moment we arrived, Ali and Frania made us feel so welcomeāthey are truly exceptional hosts who go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a great experience. The space itself was immaculately clean, thoughtfully designed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit. The location was perfect. Just steps from the beach, we had easy access to the ocean, great surf-watching spots, and a wide variety of restaurants and cafes. Whether we were enjoying morning walks along the shore, watching the waves roll in, or grabbing a bite nearby, everything felt effortlessly convenient. And when we wanted to explore further, we were just a short taxi ride from the lively town of San Juan del Surāperfect for a little extra nightlife, shopping, or adventure. We really appreciated the attention to detail, the warmth and hospitality of the hosts, and the overall peaceful, welcoming vibe of the place. It was the ideal blend of relaxation and connection to the local scene. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located beach getaway hosted by genuinely kind people.

Fantastic location overlooking the surf break with easy access. There are board rentals and beach food and drink right at the break you can walk to, and Ali also is a great host who made us drinks and a delicious dinner on top of the great breakfasts. Heās even got a great playlist and has thought of pretty much everything for an awesome stay with beautiful facilities.

10/10 stay at the Flamingo Experience. Aliās house is truly beautiful and sits in a perfect location looking out at the beach - the photos do not do the view justice. He goes above and beyond to ensure his guests have a great stay. The only bad part was having to leave. Highly recommend!

The Flamingo Experience I donāt even know where to start with how amazing our stay here was. This was hands down the most incredible place weāve ever stayed. Ali, Frania, Macho and his pack of perfect beach puppiesā¦ all amazing, in every way! Ali always had a 10/10 recommendation for what to do, where to go, what to eat.. but not only that, he made everything SO EASY! I would describe him as his own type of uber service of literally everything you could ever want. He took care of our cabs, boat trips, shuttles, everything.. all we had to do was tip whoever was picking us up or dropping us off! Ali doesnāt advertise this part very well but he might make the best steak in North and South America! Being from Alberta and have eaten steak all over the US, itās pretty hard to impress me BUT Aliās ribeye was hands down the best Iāve ever had! But to top it off, Ali played a critical role in proposing to my now fiancĆ©. He helped me bail the timing, blast the music and catch the moment from multiple angles. The guy is a legend and The Flamingo Experience is one Iāll remember for a lifetime! Thank you for everything Ali!!

Ali (the owner) purpose built this home to host and you can tell this bed and breakfast is his passion. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and walk in shower. The common areas have so much open space and seating, you could have 20 people without feeling crowded but is shared by only 6 guests. The pictures don't do the view of the beach justice and it can be seen from every place on the property. I was a little skeptical of the perfect rating on Google, but this place exceeds every expectation. You need to stay here if you have the chance!

Do I need to know how to surfāor do I have to surf at all?
Not at all. Many of our guests are first-timers, and we make surfing fun, safe, and optional. If youād rather relax poolside, hike, or join excursions instead, youāll have plenty of ways to enjoy your retreat. Surfing is just one of many experiences available.
How flexible are the dates and length of stay?
The retreat is designed as a five-night stay (our recommended sweet spot). That gives you enough time to:

We also offer flexibility: minimum 3 nights, maximum 14 nights.
